The conference will be held in the lecture hall(s) of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig and adjacent buildings.

Registration and front desk will be at the Max Planck Institute.

Participants are required to make their own travel arrangements to and from Leipzig. Visitors from abroad should make sure to meet the entry requirements for Germany / the European Union and have a valid visa (the normal tourist visa is sufficient). By plane

Arrival at Airport Leipzig-Halle (LEJ):
Take the train from Leipzig Airport to Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) that runs every 30 minutes. It will take you approx. 15 minutes to get to the main railway station. A taxi ride from the airport to the institute costs about 30 to 40 Euros.

By train

Arrival at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main railway station):
Coming from the station you can board tram number 16 at Willy-Brandt-Platz (opposite the main station) to the destination Lössnig (Lößnig). Get off at the 5th stop "Deutsche Bücherei". Turn left, cross the street (Semmelweisstraße) and you will find yourself at Deutscher Platz. The Institute, a modern building with a glass facade, is at your right. You have to buy a ticket "Einzelfahrkarte Leipzig" before you board the tram.

By car

  • Coming from Autobahn (national route) A9 (Berlin-Munich), change to A14 (E49) at Schkeuditzer Kreuz direction Dresden.
  • Coming from Autobahn (national route) A2 (E30) (Oberhausen-Hannover-Berlin), change to A14 (E49) at Kreuz Magdeburg direction Halle/Dresden.

Follow A14, then take the exit Leipzig-Mitte (Exit #23), and follow the road B2 for approx. 20 minutes. You will pass Berliner Straße, Georgiring, Prager Straße. Turn right when you reach Semmelweisstraße, the sign there says "Alte Messe, Deutsche Bücherei". Cross Philipp-Rosenthal-Straße and turn left when you reach Straße des 18. Oktober. Entering Deutscher Platz you see the Institute, a modern building at your right.
